Get a quoteRubbish Clearance Wimbledon is committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation within our operations and supply chains. We recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to ensure that the people who work for and with us are treated fairly and lawfully.
Rubbish Clearance Wimbledon provides waste collection, rubbish clearance, and related environmental services to residential, commercial, and public sector clients. Our supply chains include suppliers of vehicles, fuel, personal protective equipment, waste processing facilities, subcontracted labour, and office services. We understand that certain parts of the waste management and logistics sector can be vulnerable to modern slavery risks, especially where low-skilled or temporary labour is involved.
We maintain a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that supports or is involved in such practices. Our commitment applies to our own staff, agency workers, contractors, and every tier of our supply chain. Any suspected breach of this policy will be investigated promptly and may result in the termination of contracts, reporting to relevant authorities, and other appropriate corrective actions.
Our approach to preventing modern slavery is underpinned by internal policies and procedures. These include policies on recruitment, equal opportunities, whistleblowing, health and safety, and supplier conduct. All policies are approved by senior management and communicated to relevant staff. We aim to embed respect for human rights into our day-to-day decision making, including procurement, contract management, and operational planning.
We conduct due diligence on suppliers and contractors that present a higher risk of labour exploitation. This includes assessing their location, type of work, and employment practices. Where appropriate, we request evidence of their own modern slavery policies, worker protections, and compliance measures.
We reserve the right to carry out audits or inspections of suppliers and subcontractors. These audits may review employment records, working conditions, health and safety arrangements, and grievance mechanisms. If we identify concerns, we will work with the supplier to implement corrective actions within an agreed timeframe. Persistent non-compliance or unwillingness to improve will lead to the review or termination of the relationship.
We provide training and guidance to managers and staff who are involved in recruitment, procurement, and site operations so they can recognise the signs of modern slavery and know how to respond. This includes awareness of indicators such as lack of personal freedom, signs of intimidation or debt bondage, suspicious accommodation arrangements, and inconsistencies in documentation.
Rubbish Clearance Wimbledon encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and members of the public to report any concerns about modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised directly with line managers, senior management, or via our whistleblowing arrangements. Reports may be made in confidence and will be treated seriously and sensitively.
We do not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith. All allegations will be investigated, and where appropriate we will involve law enforcement or other relevant authorities.
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process and that risks can change over time. We are committed to continuous improvement in our approach by monitoring our supply chains, updating our risk assessments, and strengthening our controls where necessary.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be reviewed at least once every year by senior management to ensure it remains effective and relevant to our operations and risks. Updates may also be made sooner if there are significant changes to our business, applicable legislation, or best practice standards.
This statement has been approved by the management of Rubbish Clearance Wimbledon, who are responsible for ensuring that our obligations under modern slavery legislation are met and that this statement is implemented throughout the business and our supply chains.
Rubbish Clearance Wimbledon remains fully committed to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking and to promoting fair, safe, and respectful working conditions for all.
